Rosie has gained strong technical and leadership skills over a diverse career meaning she is uniquely placed to build personable stakeholder relationships and deliver complex projects from concept to completion with pride. Whether it’s a £250M hospital development or a smaller building reuse scheme, Rosie thrives on the challenge of finding the optimum technical design, whilst also creating an integrated and elegant offering.

Rosie takes a leading role in the development of sustainable Civil and Structural engineering. She chairs the Civil and Structural Sustainability Group and is a leading voice in sector wide initiatives such as the Declare movement. She is committed to driving down the embodied carbon costs of our buildings & infrastructure as well as developing strategies to optimise biodiversity.

Expert Witness and Advisory Services lead, Chartered Civil and Structural engineer (FICE) with 26 years’ experience.

Lucy is a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE) and a fellow of the Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) with 26 years of experience, including 6 years in Dubai. Experienced in the design of steel, concrete, masonry and timber building structures, project management, the design process and FIDIC contracts. She has given evidence on numerous occasions in both litigation and high profile international arbitrations.

Chartered RIBA Architect

Alex is a chartered architect with the RIBA and leads the Architecture team based in Bristol. Having trained in the UK he has international experience working in Canada for three years on a number of engineering and design led projects.

An advocate of multidiscipline collaborative design, Alex is focused on creating sustainable and Net Zero Architecture through Building Information Modelling (BIM) to deliver projects with complex requirements and challenging objectives.

He is passionate about the built environment and takes pride in building trusting and cooperative relationships by providing a professional and personal service.

As well as training junior architectural staff within Ridge, Alex is an RIBA Student Mentor with the University of West England and an active RIBA member.

Alex has led several substantial projects in the Industrial and Logistics Sector, Advanced Manufacturing and Automotive sector and is a leader in Green Technologies and R&D projects. He is equally influential and interested in delivering smaller scale projects, such as schools for the Department for Education and Blue Light facilities for the Emergency Services, as well as overseeing a variety of commercial offices, refurbishment, and residential projects.

Phil is a highly driven consultant with clients valuing his business acumen and ability to quickly understand commercial objectives to deliver tailored services of the highest quality, on the back of exceptional experience.

He began working life at Edward Erdman and in 1991 established its northern building surveying team. Phil then enjoyed a spell with King Sturge, before leaving to establish the northern operation of CNP in 1995 where he played a key role in the growth and development of the regional business, as well as the company’s large projects division in the north.

Phil was also the brains and one of the driving forces behind Location Leeds at MIPIM and was recognised by Insider Magazine as one of the Yorkshire region’s up and coming entrepreneurs in 2005.

Phil established Projex Building Solutions in 2008 and remained joint managing director until its acquisition by Ridge in 2021.

Chartered Building Surveyor with 23 years’ experience.

Chris is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyor with 5 years’ experience working within the public sector and the remainder in the private sector. 

He has significant expertise in building surveys, party wall matters, clerk of works services, contract administration, programme management, the design process and NEC, JCT and PPC/TPC contracts.

Abby is an experienced Sustainability Consultant based in Winchester who has been working in the construction industry for thirteen years. She has successfully set up and managed a profitable Sustainability team and established strong client relationships with an excellent record of repeat business.

A skilled and passionate communicator, Abby specialises in engaging with design teams and clients to ensure that the principles of sustainable development are identified, understood and integrated into projects from the outset and then regularly reviewed throughout design and construction stages to meet with the schemes’ sustainability objectives and move the industry towards zero carbon.

Keith is the Partner leading the fire safety discipline in the Ridge London Office. He has extensive experience in fire risk assessment and fire safety design in a range of sectors, throughout the building lifecycle.

Keith is an experienced fire risk management professional, a third-party registered fire risk assessor and fire risk assessment validator, a chartered building engineer and an incorporated engineer, with a first-class Honours degree in fire risk engineering. He won Fire Safety Manager of the Year 2022 for his work done at Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea following the Grenfell Tower fire, as well as winning Research Project of the Year from the Worshipful Company of Fire-fighters for his research on fire modelling and human behaviour in heritage buildings.

Keith understands the practical implications of implementing fire strategies in multi-occupancy sites and large property portfolios and tailors fire safety solutions to meet the individual needs of organisations and the buildings in which they operate.

Matthew is a Partner in our London Quantity Surveying team and has over 17 years’ experience as a Cost Manager and team leader in the built environment. During that time, he has successfully delivered and managed a range of high-profile projects with a focus on residential, commercial and hospitality schemes in London and the South East.

Matthew’s expertise includes major mixed-use regeneration projects, joining the dots between housing, leisure and infrastructure development for UK and international clients.

He is an experienced leader with strong commercial acumen, delivering strategic management and process, pre-contract estimating, cost planning, procurement and tendering, contract administration and post-contract commercial management roles.

Matthew sits on the South East committee of the British Council for Offices (BCO).

Experienced Electrically biased Building Services engineer with over 25 years’ experience within the industry. Carl leads the Electrical Building Services team within the Manchester & Liverpool offices.

Carl has a strong reputation within the industry, which has been earned by his technical expertise and contribution in overcoming challenges to successfully delivering many prestigious and award-winning projects.

Coming from a trade apprenticeship background, Carl brings a practical knowledge as well as engineering solutions to projects and has an excellent understanding of specific project needs. Believing in a collaborative approach with clients, Carl always drives to establish clear briefs, to fully understand a client’s requirements and expectations, whilst offering professional advice and ideas to add positive contributions to new schemes.

With a wealth of experience, covering most sectors, Carl is able to fully understand and work with the various specialist technologies available, offer innovative solutions, advise on industry standards and desirable building accreditations.

Liz’s expertise lies in understanding complex briefs and identifying client’s needs to deliver highly technical and creative projects. A member of the RIBA and ARB, Liz benefits from over 15 years’ experience developing innovative and functional design.

Liz has worked across nearly all sectors bringing a wealth of experience and strong leadership to all her projects.

She is currently enrolled as an RIBA examiner for architecture chartership.

Adrian is the Partner responsible for Building Surveying within our Reading office, with particular expertise in the commercial, leisure and education sectors. 

His varied experience includes: traditional surveying services such as due diligence, acquisition surveys, dilapidations and maintenance planning; architectural design for a wide range of refurbishment and conversion projects; and project management and contract administration roles.

Adrian offers particular skills in carbon reduction, holistic M&E asset management, life cycle costing and statutory compliance services to a wide range of clients and sectors.

Lighting is central to how people feel and function within a space and Andrew has enjoyed over 25 years of seeing people use the lit environments he has worked on. Having started his career installing lighting prior to graduating, he understands how to both design and install. Andrew particularly enjoys solving those finite design details which make all the difference to the completed clarity of a space.

Andrew’s lighting design philosophy is that it must respond to the architecture, the materials and the people who use the space. Daylight first before introducing architectural lighting whilst also protecting our dark skies. The lighting should also have a narrative and only exist if it is needed and adds to the beauty or function of a space. We only need to light what we want to see.

We can wait for change to happen, or we can drive the change we want to see happen. Andrew prefers the latter and enjoy the process of exploring how we can adopt new technologies and techniques to deliver better quality spaces for our clients and the occupants of spaces.

Andrew is the Healthcare lead for Ridge, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building, and is also a Partner within the Project Management team.  Andrew has led multiple projects of improvement across hospital Trust sites and redeveloped entire Trust sites also.

Andrew has delivered Healthcare schemes from feasibility stage to the completion of construction.  Andrew is experienced at managing both end users and contractors, he has experienced an array of healthcare schemes, such as wards, cancer care centres, critical care units, operating theaters, outpatient departments, maternity units, mental health hospitals, research hubs and offices.

Experienced Electrical Biased Building Services Engineer with over 22 years’ experience. He also manages Team 210 in Reading.

Andrew is a member of the IET and Associate Member of the Society of Light and Lighting. He has worked almost exclusively with Ridge since joining the practice in 1997 as a Graduate Engineer.

Andrew has extensive retail experience having been the Engineering Lead for the Boots the Chemist account since 2004, and is responsible for surveying, reporting and specifying electrical upgrades with an annual spend of in excess of £5m. He has generated a bespoke scoring sheet for LV switchgear, to allow the estates department to prioritise funding allocation. Andrew is also the framework lead for the H&M framework and participates in the Retail discipline. 

Andrew is an Electrical Building Services Engineer who specialises in building and façade lighting, with recent projects including the award-winning Alexandra Palace East Court and Mast refurbishment, Jagex Gaming Studios and the Evesham War memorial.

Anthony has worked in the construction industry for over thirty years both on private and public sector projects for an extensive client base and is able to provide advice on project feasibility and viability, estimating and cost planning, value engineering, procurement, execution of building contracts, contract administration and agreement of final accounts. He is able to provide strategic delivery advice for both individual projects and wider programmes.

Barry has extensive construction and architectural experience, providing the ideal background to successfully manage modern construction projects.

With a keen eye for detail and an excellent technical background, he has forged strong relationships some of the UK’s largest property companies, who value his practical advice, negotiating ability and experience of working on complex, multifaceted development projects.

Barry joined Ridge from Projex Building solutions (acquired by Ridge in 2021) where he held the role of Director from 2009.

Ben is a partner in our Building Services team in Birmingham, responsible for project delivery across a diverse range of schemes and sectors including leisure, health, education and data centres.

He is a multi-disciplined engineer with over 30 years’ experience within the industry. Ben has a proven track record of project delivery from inception and feasibility through to construction and handover. A firm believer in collaboration as a major contributor to success, he retains a strong customer focus whilst managing internal delivery teams throughout the key stages of all schemes.

Commercially astute, Ben has extensive experience in the management and delivery of schemes across all sectors.

Brent joined Ridge in 2013 to drive implementation of BIM within the business and employing his strong technical background to lead large multidiscipline projects. During this time, Brent created a consultancy team which provides a suite of bespoke Digital Engineering services. The team now has an established client base with high-profile, high-value projects.

Brent is a chartered construction professional (MCIAT) with experience in multiple industry roles, including BIM & Information Management, Design Management, and Architectural Technology. His skills have been developed on high-complexity projects, across a variety of sectors, for clients at national and international levels. This has allowed him to utilise technical knowledge of construction design and delivery, along with digital technologies, processes, and culture, in order to engage stakeholders and lead projects across all stages.

Chris is a chartered Transport Planner with a MSc in Transport Planning. He has 15 years’ experience working in the private sector for a mix of private and public-sector clients on a variety of commissions across sectors.

Chris joined Ridge and Partners in October 2019 to lead the Transport Planning business.

Chris has a wealth of previous experience as a project manager and project director working on a range of development projects, he has detailed experience of traffic impact studies for both commercial and residential developments as well as technical transport studies for public sector clients such as Transport for London.

Chris also has Public Inquiry experience, successfully delivering developments on proposals that have been unreasonably refused. Recently, Chris has been successful in overturning South Somerset District Council’s decision to refuse a development of 27 dwellings in Castle Cary and North Somerset Council’s decision to refuse development of 59 dwellings at Wrington.

Guy is an expert in residential, mixed-use and education-related projects; commercial and rural development relating to individual planning proposals; and strategic promotion of land for development as part of the development plan process. He offers broad experience advising on, submitting and negotiating planning applications. Guy works closely with a wide range of private developers, house builders, education establishments and landowners on a variety of development projects across the country. He has built up considerable knowledge in providing evidence as an expert witness at public inquiries.

Ian has a wealth of experience in design and build construction and has been heavily involved with projects demanding complex fit out and rapid fast-track procurement.

Ian is a trained Quantity Surveyor and has been responsible for contractors’ estimating departments and cost planning for a range of projects. More recently, he has focused on the project management of high-end residential properties.

Jon has worked on a range of projects across many sectors of the industry since starting as a Building Services Engineer in 2003. His experience includes design, management and delivery of project on varying scales. He is an enthusiastic engineer and enjoys developing the junior members of staff. He relishes the challenge of overcoming difficult design pieces, always looking for the right solution for the client.

Jon forges solid relationships with clients which is proven by the high percentage of repeat business. Jon has a key interest in prime residential projects and has been involved in a number of projects over the last 10 years.

Sustainability and lowering energy usage is a key topic and something Jon strives for on all projects.

Keith is a Chartered Building Surveyor with experience in both the public and private sectors. He has experience of both project and advisory/professional work for a range of clients.

Lee is a highly experienced, self-motivated, and commercially-driven chartered quantity surveyor, with more than twenty-five years of practical experience working throughout the construction industry on traditional building, civil engineering, and railway infrastructure projects.

For the last fifteen years, Lee has worked predominantly in dispute avoidance and dispute resolution. He has worked on disputes in connection with several national landmark projects, including Wembley Stadium, the International Convention Centre for Wales, and the Centre for Alternative Technology.

Lee has been instructed by some of the largest international law firms, by six of the UK’s major housebuilders, and by several of the UK’s biggest national building contractors. He has been directly engaged to act in more than seventy formal disputes, and, on more than thirty occasions, as an independent Expert Witness in the field of quantum; where he was required to prepare formal expert evidence for adjudication, mediation, or litigation. In addition to this wide-ranging domestic experience, Lee has worked extensively on international arbitrations on large scale infrastructure projects in the Middle East, in which multi-billion dollar sums were in dispute.When instructed as a party representative, Lee provides detailed quantum advice and analysis. This includes the valuation of major variations, and the ascertainment of loss and expense associated with disruption and delay.

As Cost Manager Lead, Mark plays a key part in the successful delivery of a project, adding value in controlling the budget and making sure it is spent in the right areas to deliver the desired outcomes. He provides timely, accurate information to support informed decision-making, and offers extensive knowledge of framework agreements, partnering arrangements, term contracts, procurement strategies and the appointment of consultants and contractors.

Martyn has a broad range of experience across sectors having worked on multiple large-scale residential and blue light schemes, as well as mixed use, care homes, barn conversions, rural exception sites and one-off houses.

He is deeply aware of the balance between sustainable concept design and onsite buildability and believes that good working relationships are formed on collaboration and are pivotal to the success of any project.

Matthew heads up the Project Management discipline for Ridge.  He has over 30 years’ experience working on major developments throughout the UK.  He specialises major mixed-use/ retail development schemes, from inception and land assembly through to final project delivery.

Matthew has a definite approach to project management which is non-autocratic, customer-focussed and dependable. His aim is always to enable the other project stakeholders to act effectively and meet the objectives of each project.

Matt has over 18 years’ experience in property and construction, specialising in Building Surveying and Project Management, working with a broad range of clients including occupiers, funds and investors.

Mike is a Partner responsible for Building Services Engineering, his technical and management experience over a wide range of diverse projects ensures that the design of the building engineering services is cost effective, practical, and energy efficient. Mike’s key strengths lie in his ability to motivate and co-ordinate the various design disciplines as well as integration of the building services into the project. This ensures that the product delivered to the client meets with expectation as well as cost constraints. Mike’s experience across a wide range of projects of varying complexity allows him to draw from his knowledge to ensure the optimum solution and quality to meet with clients’ requirements.

Murray sits on the Ridge Executive Group and is a Building Surveying Consultant with over 30 years’ experience.

Murray has extensive expertise in the construction industry providing surveying consultancy across a range of sectors. These include commercial, leisure, housing, retail, industry, hotels, health and education. Murray chairs the Building Surveying Group across Ridge and has developed a keen interest in the education, training and development of Graduate Surveyors.

Nathan brings over 27 years of property and construction expertise and leads our Project Management team in Bristol.

Neil leads the Technology function at Ridge, delivering IT and technical infrastructure alongside functional transformation that supports our growth, innovation, and client service. Neil takes a holistic view of our technology systems and processes, leading on transformational change, data and analytics, and project management. Neil also chairs our Technology & Process Board internally owning both technology strategy and roadmap for the business.

Neil has a rich career history with over 15 years’ experience in IT. He holds a first-class degree in Computer Science and a doctorate in Quantum Computing. Prior to joining Ridge, Neil has worked in many corporate organisations and consultancies across the UK and Europe leading IT delivery and strategy.

Nick has over 15 years’ experience on a mix of both design and site supervision works, and has developed a broad set of skills and experience developed from working on a wide range of residential, educational, retail, healthcare, sports and civil engineering work ranging in project value from £1M to £50M.

Paul leads the Cost Management department of Ridge based in Manchester. Paul has vast experience in the Cost Management industry in a wide variety of sectors, including both public and private. Paul has successfully delivered services on many construction projects in the North West and Wales. His areas of specialism include Quantity Surveying services, Employers Agent and Fund Monitoring. Paul has over 20years experience in Building Services Engineering and leads our Building Services team in Cambridge.

He has worked across a large range of sectors and has undertaken some nationally significant and unique projects. Most recently, Paul was the MEP lead for the National Satellite Test Facility at Harwell, which contained some of the world’s largest cleanroom facilities.

Paul is a senior member of the Quantity Surveying team and has considerable experience across all sectors of the industry including education, residential, industrial and commercial. His experience includes new build, extension and refurbishments with values ranging from £50,000 to £350 million.

Project responsibilities include preparation of initial cost advice, feasibility studies, option studies, value engineering, cost in use studies, life cycle costing, preparation of cost plans, contract advice, tender documentation, tender evaluation, post-contract financial control, agreement of final accounts and settlement of claims.

Paul is a building surveyor with over 30 years of experience in construction, particularly in the retail and commercial sectors, specialising in complex and challenging refurbishment projects.

Paul is knowledgeable in conversion and refurbishment works for a range of retail, commercial and healthcare, private and public-sector clients. His projects have included a full range of duties such as leading and developing project briefs, preparing in depth feasibility reports and managing projects through to completion.

Paul is also experienced in co-ordinating and preparing full detailed drawings, specifications together with tender and contract documentation for numerous projects from minor alteration schemes to multi-phased large-scale refurbishments.

Paul is a chartered architect and leads our Architecture team based in Manchester.

Paul has previously worked with Ridge in Oxford and Shanghai, successfully leading significant high-profile design projects, managing large teams across a range of sectors specifically Formula 1, R&D and Higher Education. Paul’s specialism is leading on challenging briefs, often with complex requirements and where design led architecture and interior projects require intensive multidisciplinary collaboration.

Peter has a 30 year multi-sector background in Building Services covering residential, industrial, healthcare, leisure and commercial sectors, but his passion is for offices. Offices may seem bland to most, but delivery of a high quality, adaptable, efficient, engaging workspace is important in allowing the occupants to produce their best work. Therefore by delivering top quality workspaces, we have a direct influence on the successes of every client.

As the country pushes towards a Net Zero Carbon future, drastically improving our building stock, both new and existing is vitally important to achieving these goals and protecting the futures of generations to come. Peter has significant experience with decarbonisation projects to improve our existing stock, driving value through energy efficient design and a fabric first approach to the building strategy has helped many clients reduce carbon emissions, running costs and extended the life of their buildings.

Chartered Building Services Engineer – BEng (Hons) CEng MCIBSE MIET with over 25 years’ experience in the industry.

Phil is Managing Partner for our Bristol and Cambridge Offices and leads our Building Services Engineering discipline, which has over 100 engineers based across 10 locations.  

Phil balances his managerial tasks while remaining resolutely client and project focused.  

He is very active in our defence and security sector and leads projects with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the MOD and Boeing Defence. As well as supporting these major clients, he also leads regional projects with regional design teams.

Phil brings over 15 years of experience in building services and sustainability and is recognised internationally as a thought leader in sustainable design and strategies. Phil has led the energy and sustainability strategies for some of the most innovative and complex projects across UK commercial, education, science, and healthcare sectors. He has also led international research projects on decarbonisation and the circular economy.

Phil delivers a cross-discipline, cross-market NZ+C offer for clients, working closely with design and engineering disciplines, sustainability teams, and social value specialists to maximise sustainable outcomes on projects.

Project Manager with 25 years’ experience gained on a wide range of projects in the UK and overseas.

A seasoned Project Manager who has worked in a variety of sectors including international, higher education, historic buildings, commercial, leisure and retail with projects typically ranging from £1M to £50M. Richard is a member of the Project Management discipline at Ridge. His specialist areas of expertise include: gateway reviews, risk management, stakeholder engagement, procurement planning, contract administration JCT and NEC.

Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer (FICE) and Chartered Health and Safety Professional (CMIOSH) with nearly 40 years’ experience.

A Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE) and member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) with nearly 40 years’ experience. Following four years with major contractors, Richard moved to consulting engineering, where he has been leading the design of projects varying from modest extensions through to projects up to £60million. These include complex process facilities, hotels, residential accommodation including high rise (particularly in the social housing sector), R&D facilities, education, health, retail and mixed-use schemes and defence, where he spent time in Germany with the British Forces.

Richard is a Partner responsible for the management of Building Surveying Oxford, Health and Safety and Geo-Spatial teams at Ridge. He has extensive Property Management, Project Management and Lead Consultant experience within construction.

Richard has been the Framework Manager for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office / Crown Global Services and UKAEA providing senior contact for a wide scope of construction and property management. He brings over a decade of senior management experience.

Robert is a commercial solicitor qualified in 2001, offering his experience and advice in commercial contracts, risk management and claims handling.

Roger has broad expertise in the commercial and retail sector, initially as a cost manager and for the last 10 years as a project manager.

He specialises in managing multiple site roll-out projects and is a pro at developing new systems and processes, and then delivering these into organisations to provide a best-practice approach to business-as-usual opportunities.

Qualified with London firm Hays Macintyre before working in the Audit and Insolvency teams of Grant Thornton in Oxford and Southampton. Joined Ridge in 1995, helping shape the business over many years.

Sam is an architecturally trained Chartered Structural Engineer with over 20 years of professional experience.

Sam leads our Bristol Structural and Civil Engineering team, working with planners and main contractors to offer a full spectrum of structures and civils services, including engineering, design and risk management. He is an experienced leader, having delivered complex multi-disciplinary projects and managed diverse, specialist engineering and consultancy teams, with a strong collaborative, inclusive and team-based ethos.

Sam has a raft of experience in the design of buildings and infrastructure projects in the public and private sectors. His portfolio includes the design of new build and complex refurbishment projects ranging in value between £50,000 to £250 million, with specific experience in the education, healthcare, sports, retail, commercial, industrial, and residential markets.

Sarah has over 25 years of experience in transport planning and transport infrastructure master planning—delivering area-wide transport strategies, successful business cases and major development with a focus on sustainable development strategy and implementation.

Sarah joined Ridge in September 2022 to help grow the transport planning business.

Sarah has built up a strong portfolio of prestigious, private sector land development clients and local authorities. She has led a range of land development projects from site identification/screening through to delivery, including the promotion of sites through local planning frameworks, supporting planning applications, and funding bids. This has involved supporting both private and public sectors on mixed-use developments, housing developments, education schemes, health centres, leisure centres, and transport infrastructure schemes, including railway stations, public transport interchanges, highway schemes, and car parks. She has led the development of Local Transport Plans, policies and strategies, option assessments, feasibility and design of infrastructure, and case making.

Sarah has managed and coordinated numerous high profile multi-disciplinary projects, including Land North of Horsham, Kilnwood Vale near Crawley, Green Park Station in Reading, Rowden Park and Showell Farm in Chippenham, Kimmerfields in Swindon, Land West of Copthorne in Mid Sussex, Daws Hill in High Wycombe, New Eastern Villages in Swindon, Active Travel and Levelling Up Funding bids, and Mass Rapid Transit Schemes in Reading, and Reading’s Local Transport Plan.

Chartered Quantity Surveyor, BSc (Hons), MRICS, with over 30 years’ experience in the property and construction industry, 20 years of which are with Ridge.

Simon is responsible for the Commercial Cost Management Team from the Reading office, and is focused on building client and consultant relationships across the industry.

Simon has a wide variety of experience and provides a broad level of construction advice in the commercial, industrial, residential, leisure and finance sectors.

He has a passion for problem solving and the delivery of projects and provides Project Management, Employer’s Agent, Contract Administration, Cost Management and Development Monitoring services as well as being a key member of the Commercial Sector Group.

Simon leads the Architecture department in London; Simon has worked on a variety of diverse national and international projects during his career; including Masterplanning and Infrastructure projects, to high-rise developments, Cultural building, Research and Development buildings, as well as Headquarter developments for Pharmaceutical, Automotive and Aerospace clients.

His passion for Sustainable design results in a strong belief in multidisciplinary collaboration. Always endeavouring for the final outcome to have a positive impact for users and the wider society. Simon brings first-hand knowledge and experience of leading and delivering high-quality projects. He has extensive experience in leading teams and stakeholders to creatively problem solve unique and difficult situations quickly and efficiently, but think innovatively with all other project disciplines to provide the highest quality result for the project.

Chartered Building Services Engineer.

Simon is a Partner within the Building Services Department of Ridge based in the North West, and has over 36 years’ in the Building Services Industry, where he has gained extensive experience in the delivery of many major building projects across a diverse range of sectors.

Simon commenced his career in building services as a pipefitter welder, installing piped services systems, he then moved on to become a site engineer, supervising and managing M&E services installations at site level, before progressing his career on the design side after successful completion of academic qualifications.

Simon is very much a design led engineer with a strong focus on delivery quality, technical excellence, knowledge sharing and standardisation. He believes this can be achieved on each project by effective communication using a proactive and collaborative approach within Design and Construction Teams and with Client representatives.

Simon has a strong background in sustainability and has experience in working with low energy and renewable energy schemes especially ground and air source heat pumps where he has spent time designing and installing these systems for a specialist contractor. He can offer practical experience of low carbon solutions and will be pivotal in pushing sustainable and Low Carbon design solutions.

Project Manager and Chartered Building Surveyor with 30 years’ industry experience.

A focused Project Manager with experience across most sectors, working closely with clients to represent, support and advise them on project strategy and delivery. 

Ability to quickly develop a good understanding of clients’ requirements and  take ‘ownership’ of the project, developing an action of plan for delivery. His strong communication skills and working relationships with clients and colleages ensure projects are completed successfully.

Steve is a Partner at Ridge based in Bristol, where he leads the building services team.

He enjoys the challenges that building services engineering provides, solving inherent issues in existing buildings and evolving new build client requirements into an appropriate solution, looking beyond building services into holistic measures.

Steve has a proven track record of achieving repeat business through continued performance and delivery with major clients.

With over three decades of experience in the building industry, both in Australia and in the UK, Steve has managed projects in the defence, industrial, healthcare, higher education and commercial sectors. He has managed many multidiscipline teams on technically challenging projects including award-winning laboratory facilities. He favours a hands-on approach to liaison with clients and design teams, understanding their needs and aspirations and formulating successful design briefs. His particular focus is evaluating the needs of building users, identifying problems and applying appropriate cost-effective solutions.

Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with a BSc (Hons) in Construction Management & Building Surveying and BEng in Communications Engineering.

Terry has 13 years’ senior surveying experience and 12 years’ prior experience of senior network and best practice engineering management in the media & telecoms sector.

He is an expert in project and contract management, party wall and dilapidations advice, and pre-acquisition, feasibility and technical due diligence assessments. He also has extensive knowledge and more recent project focus in the education sector.

Previously, Terry specialised in the design and implementation of media and data traffic over RF telecommications networks.

Tim has an in-depth knowledge in all aspects of pre and post-contract quantity surveying. He is directly involved with clients advising on all aspects of the project, especially procurement, contractual and cost advice.

Tim has a wealth of experience in providing project costings from initial feasibility studies and estimates to detailed cost planning on a wide range of projects, this extends to post-contract services in a range of market sectors.

He is a results driven, self-motivated and resourceful quantity surveyor working as part of a busy team, effectively managing all costs relating to building projects. A strong team player who is enthusiastic about customer care and providing timely, accurate information to support informed decision making for the projects.

Tim is responsible for ensuring projects continue to meet clients’ aspirations to budget and on time, through regular contact with project teams and clients. This role requires preparation and review of contract documentation, tender documents and project cost plans, identifying efficiencies where applicable whilst acting as a single point of contact for the client, project teams, and Partners.
