Lincoln College, Oxford, Shortlisted for the 2021 Building Awards
14 October 2021
Ridge are delighted to have been shortlisted for the 2021 Building awards.
Lincoln College Oxford, is a finalist in the Refurbishment Project of the Year Category.
This project saw the complex Renovation of 600 year old, Listed Buildings in Oxford City Centre.
The Grade II* Listed Mitre building, and the adjacent Grade II Listed Turl Yard, were in a poor condition and refurbishment was long overdue. Renovation was necessary not only for the students but to meet the standard required for holiday lets and conferences which provide the College with significant revenue during the holiday periods.
The Ridge approach was centred around building a great project team that we knew would be working closely together with the client on a weekly basis for over 3 years. Listed building projects are risky endeavours presenting many hurdles and unknown conditions, which requires a strong team with the right motivation to overcome the challenges and deliver a successful project.
“We have a very good relationship with the Ridge professionals managing the project and the College trusts their judgement. We have confidence that our interests are their priority. Once we decided the size and scope of the project through the planning stages, we left it to Ridge to manage the process for us, reporting to the Bursar and to the project committee on a regular basis.” – Alex Spain, Lincoln College Bursar
