Manchester Office of Ridge and Partners Bowls a Winner with £85m Edgbaston Project

The Manchester office of Ridge and Partners LLP (Ridge) has been appointed to design the mechanical and electrical infrastructure for an £85m build-to-rent project next door to Birmingham’s famous Edgbaston cricket ground.

The project, for developer PATRIZIA Immobilien AG, the pan-European real estate investment manager, will see 375 high quality apartments and 20,000 square feet of ground floor retail and leisure space constructed on a site immediately adjacent to the stadium.

The site was acquired in 2017 and the completed development will be known as Edgbaston Residences.  The popular Birmingham suburb sits just a mile south of the city centre.

“This is a keynote development in a prosperous and well-connected part of Birmingham and we’re delighted to be working alongside PATRIZIA,” said Chris Bradburn, a partner at Ridge in Manchester.

“These will be upmarket homes for rent and we will ensure that the technical specification of the kitchens, security, lighting and bathrooms will be of the highest order.”

The scheme’s architects are CallisonRTKL.  Planning permission has now been granted by Birmingham City Council, with Turley acting as planning consultants.  Construction is expected to complete in 2022.

Ridge employs more than 600 staff nationally and more than 100 in its Manchester and Liverpool offices when project-specific consultants are taken into account.
