On behalf of Vistry Group, Ridge secured Approval of Reserved Matters for 97 dwellings (including 30% affordable) and 6 self-build plots. The planning team at Ridge worked closely with McBains Ltd (architecture) and were responsible for preparing, submitting and monitoring the application. The new development is situated in Cam and forms part of a wider allocated site which is currently under construction.
The main issues for consideration were as follows;
- Principle of development
- Design and appearance
- Design and mix of units
- Affordable Housing
- Landscape
- Ecology
- Flood risk/drainage
- Residential Amenity
- Highways/PROW
- Contaminated land
- Archaeology and Heritage Assets
- Self builds
- Obligations
In formulating the planning statement, Ridge addressed all of the above considerations, satisfying Stroud District Council that the proposal complied with the relevant local and central government policy. The success of the application was largely due to successfully working with officers at Stroud District Council on matters relating to design.
This approved development will deliver a high-quality development which will provide housing and facilities which will benefit the community as a whole.
