Planning Permission Obtained for a New Purpose-Built Facility

10 May 2021

Planning permission obtained for a new purpose-built facility to develop pioneering medical products for the health care industry.

On behalf of Owen Mumford Ltd, the Ridge planning team was instructed to lead the planning application for the development of a new purpose-built facility comprising B1, B2 and B8 class uses together with landscaping, access road, car parking and other associated works, in Witney Oxfordshire.

The site had an extensive planning history, and a range of issues which needed to be addressed through pre-app consultation and supporting reports. The Ridge planning team put forward a robust case which convinced the LPA that the development was acceptable.

The planning team worked collaboratively with multiple Ridge services including Transportation, Architecture and Surveying to holistically respond to the on-site features, its physical and planning context and the site’s location in the urban fabric. This project is an example of how such a collaborative approach ensures that each of these disciplines, all of which are provided by Ridge, can together contribute their expertise in resolving any outstanding issues.

The approved development will provide the infrastructure to better organise the UK based manufacturing, assembly, packaging and logistics operations and support the leading organisation that provide medical products for the health care industry for the future. The Ridge planning team will now move forwards to work on the discharge of pre-operational conditions.

The approved scheme will improve the UK based manufacturing, assembly, packaging and logistics operations for Owen Mumford, a significant employer in West Oxfordshire and leading organisation that provides medical products for the health care industry.
