Ridge has been shortlisted for three Central South Business Awards.

Ridge Winchester has been nominated in the ‘Professional Services’ and ‘Large Business’ categories, while former Office Managing Partner Richard Hand has been shortlisted in the ‘Businessperson of the Year’ category. The awards ceremony will take place at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton on 28 September.

The award for ‘Large Business of the Year’ is given to a consultancy team or business which has demonstrated strong growth, innovation and leadership as well as a clear vision, while the ‘Professional Services’ award is given for excellence in a regulated sector, underpinned by a strong financial performance and adherence to a professional code of conduct.

The ‘Businessperson of the Year’ award recognises an individual who stands out from the crowd, demonstrates outstanding achievement and inspires others around them.

Richard Hand created the business’ first South Coast office in 2008 with three members of staff and a vision for what it might become. Having grown that office organically, he led key strategic business acquisitions in subsequent years, successfully integrating everyone within the Ridge organisation and culture. These acquisitions, as well as further strategically planned growth, have resulted in Winchester becoming Ridge’s second largest office, now employing over 100 staff within 14 teams.

Richard has recently passed the mantle of Office Managing Partner, having created and grown a thriving and resilient business which has had a significant positive impact on Winchester and the surrounding area. He is now supporting and mentoring new Office Managing Partner David Johnson as he builds on this strong legacy, growing the business strategically and sustainably to become the property and construction consultants of choice for the Central South region. Richard is also leading Ridge Winchester’s move to high-quality new premises, set to complete later this year.

Ridge Winchester has won several other awards (in 2022 alone winning RICS, SECBE and RESI Awards as well as ‘Large Business of the Year’ at the Winchester Business Excellence Awards and ‘Specialist Consultancy of the Year’ at the Insider South East Property Awards).
