06 April 2023

Ridge is proud to become a gold member of Women into Construction, which continues to demonstrate our commitment to promoting and supporting women in the sector.

Women into Construction’s mission is to Change the Face of Construction. They provide bespoke support to women wishing to work in the construction industry and assist contractors in recruiting, retaining and progressing female talent, helping to reduce skills gaps and create a more gender-equal workforce.

With women only making up 14% of the construction industry, here at Ridge, encouraging women to explore fantastic careers in the built environment is high on our agenda. We are proud to be working with Women into Construction to increase gender diversity in our sector.

Nicky Dixey, People Director at Ridge, said:

“This partnership will help us maximise opportunities, raise aspirations and support the positive changes the sector is making towards equality. We are passionate about diversity and inclusion and care about being an inclusive employer. By promoting equal and long-lasting career opportunities for women at Ridge, we can showcase how rewarding and fulfilling a career in our industry could be.”

Kate Paterson, Architecture Associate and Gender Impact Group lead, said:

“Gender Diversity continues to be a key challenge to almost all organisations involved in construction. Here at Ridge we anticipate that our membership of Women into Construction will help us support, retain and advance the careers of female colleagues. In addition our involvement will allow us to attract and inspire more women to join Ridge in shifting the diversity dial.”

Kath Moore MBE, Managing Director at Women into Construction, said:

“Women into Construction are delighted to welcome Ridge as a Gold member. Ridge has expressed a real commitment to increasing gender diversity within their organisation and in the property and construction sector. We look forward to working in partnership with them to achieve it.”
