Ridge celebrates winning two awards at the OxPropFest Awards 2023
14 September 2023
This week, we attended the OxPropFest Awards 2023 at Keble College, Oxford, and we’re proud to announce that Ridge were named the winner in the ‘Best Consultant Team’ category.
Wolfson College also won ‘Best Low Carbon Project’, where Ridge provided Cost Management and Employer’s Agent services on the project’s second phase. In July 2022, Wolfson College switched from gas to electricity in the original Powell & Moya building to help achieve a zero carbon estate by 2024, the 50th anniversary of the College building’s opening. Following a £5m government grant to decarbonise the college, advanced triple glazing and associated insulation have been installed, leading to an 80% reduction in energy required for space heating. In 2022, Wolfson College was recognised at the Environmental Sustainability Awards and Oxford Preservation Trust Awards.
One of our projects was also shortlisted for two OxPropFest Awards: Best Low Carbon Project and Best Commercial Project. The Institute of Developmental and Regenerative Medicine – University of Oxford (IDRM) in the IMS-Tetsuya Nakamura Building is a state-of-the-art research facility for the University of Oxford’s Medical Sciences Division. The IDRM is a new three-storey, 6,000m2 building that provides laboratory and office space, bringing together over 200 world leading researchers. Ridge provided Project Management, Contract Administration, Forensic Programming and Health and Safety Auditing services on the project. The design incorporated innovative Passivhaus design principles to improve building performance and reduce in-use energy demand to meet sustainability aspirations for the client. The research building has exceeded the strict Passivhaus standard for airtightness.
We were delighted to have been shortlisted at the OxPropFest 2023 awards within four categories: Best Consultant Team, Best Architect or Landscape Architect, Best Low Carbon Project and Best Commercial Project.
“It was a great night at the OxPropFest awards evening to celebrate the industry’s successes across Oxfordshire over the past year and network with contacts across the Oxfordshire property market. We were delighted to walk away with two wins for Ridge, recognising the great work the team continuously deliver for our clients.” Mark Richards, Oxford Office Managing Partner
