Stansfeld Park Wins RICS Social Impact Award

The Oxford Trust, Stansfeld Park Science and Innovation Centre has won the Southeast RICS Social Impact Award 2020.

2020 is the first year that the RICS has run the Social Impact Awards, for which projects where judged on their contribution to positively impacting and adding value to society.

Stansfeld Park is operated by The Oxford Trust, a charity focused on encouraging education and innovation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. It was important to the client that the building supported not just research and office needs, but also offer indoor and outdoor education spaces and a café.

“This centre, the UK’s first integrated indoor-outdoor science centre, has had an enormous, inspirational effect on the young people it is designed to serve. Created by the Oxford Trust, a charitable body that encourages the study of science and enterprise, it provides life-changing opportunities for young people to interact with STEM subjects in a creatively-designed environment. It has already brought huge benefits to the people of the region, successfully engaging local schools, teachers, pupils and volunteers in its activities.” The judges said about Stansfeld Park.
