Team Ridge exceeds £15,000 target “Exercising for Victory”
28 May 2020
We are delighted to report that we achieved our target raising over £15,000 for the University of Oxford supporting their time-critical research to deliver a vaccine in the fight against COVID-19.
Over 200 of our employees came together on VE Day to “Exercise for Victory” and raise money for this vitally important cause. Many chose an activity to recognise the date on which the event was held – the 75th anniversary of VE Day – by doing 75 press-ups, running 7.5miles and even singing “We’ll Meet Again” continuously for 75 minutes! Families enjoyed the day doing a variety of exercises from trampoline jumps, push ups and steps, to walks, cycles, runs and swims.
In particular… Kate Hardy exercised for a full 7.5 hours; Sophie Blackmore hit 75 golf balls; Jolyon Price and his family ran 7.5km and built an assault course complete with zip-wire and Rosie Camburn and her husband ran an amazing 75km between them!
Ridge was also an official sponsor of the 75th VE Day celebrations and will be celebrating our 75years next year, having been founded just after the war in 1946.
