Two Ridge projects shortlisted for 2022 OxPropFest Awards.

29 June 2022

We are thrilled that two Ridge projects have been shortlisted for 2022 OxPropFest Awards.

The highly sustainable Church Farm residential development in Radley, Oxfordshire, has been shortlisted for “Best Residential Development” and “Best Innovative/Sustainability Initiative”. Our client on the project – Blenheim Estates /Pye Homes – has also been nominated for “Contractor of the Year”.

Meanwhile, the nearby Radley College Chapel is up for “Project of the Year”. Ridge worked with Radley College on both projects

OxPropFest brings together key decision-makers from across the Oxfordshire property market, with the awards honouring the best new developments in the county. The event will take place on Wednesday 14 September at Hangar 113, Bicester Motion.

Church Farm is a beautiful and highly sustainable residential development in the Oxfordshire village of Radley, delivering an architecturally diverse, but cohesive, development on land owned by Radley College. The inclusive project creates 246 residential units of different living types, from houses to apartments. The Ridge Architecture team was appointed by developer Blenheim Estate / Pye Homes to redevelop an existing, legacy-driven concept design, and was subsequently appointed to act as Executive Architect after securing planning permission.

The Ridge Building Surveying team worked with Radley College on the extension of the Grade II* listed Radley College Chapel, built in 1895. The project provides additional seating to coincide with the opening of a new boarding house; the chapel is used daily by all pupils and for special services and events. The project also delivers a new sanctuary with an ornate timber and glass lantern roof and side extension apses to fit new tiered seating. Our role has involved overseeing conservation works to the historic monuments, including the removal and storage of the 16th century Flemish ‘reredos’; stone and brick cleaning to the exterior; design development with the project team; and moving through a negotiated two-stage tender process working with a local main contractor and specialist suppliers.

Congratulations on these deserved nominations to our teams as well as our clients and partners on both projects!
