Guy’s expertise includes the investigation, negotiation, and resolution of technical and construction related claims and in the preparation of expert reports for litigation and other dispute resolution forums. Guy has advised on claims and disputes involving building surveying, structural and defect diagnosis, neighbourly matters, dilapidations, reinstatement cost assessments, construction remedial work management, and contract administration. Guy has been instructed by RICS President appointment and as a single joint expert. Guy has provided expert evidence in the TCC and in a range of cases before County Courts. He has also given Expert Determination decisions on construction disputes. He regularly provides preliminary expert advice for adjudication and in anticipation of litigation.

Richard has experience of delivering complex buildings in a range of sectors including education, low carbon offices, healthcare, and laboratory buildings for world-class universities. Leads a Technical Control Group to raise the bar for design of mechanical engineering systems across the firm. Richard is a founding committee member of the CIBSE HVAC Systems Group and engaged in other CIBSE initiatives, including the Electrical Engineering for Net Zero Buildings working group and IT & Controls group.
Jackie is a Partner in one of the Cost Management teams in our London office and has over 20 years experience in the Construction Industry.
Jackie’s project experience includes project management, contract administration, procurement and cost management, across a range of public and private sector projects including healthcare, housing and education. Jackie has in-depth experience in all aspects of pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties. She is directly involved with clients advising on the various aspects of projects from brief to delivery. Jackie has also been involved in partnering arrangements and participated in partnering workshops. Roles have included procurement advice, preparation of contract documentation and cost management, risk management and programming as well as stakeholder engagement.
Alex is a technically skilled digital professional that actively pursues practical applications for BIM within the construction industry with proven involvement in the design and delivery of high value schemes throughout all stages of construction. Passionate advocate for interoperability and openBIM, Alex pursues an inclusive approach to digital implementation which involves all project members.
At Ridge, Alex manages the day to day running of the Digital Engineering (Building Information Modelling) team, this involves tracking team actions, training and mentoring, liaising with clients, providing project proposals, pushing new initiatives as well as managing his own projects.
Alex has provided Ridge’s award-winning digital fire compliance services to several projects. The process involves testing information models with real firestopping product test data to identify non-compliance and need for engineering judgement.
With a breadth of information management experience, Alex has supported both clients and contractors to rationalise undeliverable requirements and align to ISO 16739 (IFC). He created Ridge’s information management platform. The platform, fully compliant to ISO 19650, has been built to enable our projects to move away from endless documentation and towards a searchable, structured platform, which can connect to tools via API.
Matthew is a Partner in our London Quantity Surveying team and has over 17 years’ experience as a Cost Manager and team leader in the built environment. During that time, he has successfully delivered and managed a range of high-profile projects with a focus on residential, commercial and hospitality schemes in London and the South East.
Matthew’s expertise includes major mixed-use regeneration projects, joining the dots between housing, leisure and infrastructure development for UK and international clients.
He is an experienced leader with strong commercial acumen, delivering strategic management and process, pre-contract estimating, cost planning, procurement and tendering, contract administration and post-contract commercial management roles.

Sam is an architecturally trained Chartered Structural Engineer with over 20 years of professional experience.
Sam leads our Bristol Structural and Civil Engineering team, working with planners and main contractors to offer a full spectrum of structures and civils services, including engineering, design and risk management. He is an experienced leader, having delivered complex multi-disciplinary projects and managed diverse, specialist engineering and consultancy teams, with a strong collaborative, inclusive and team-based ethos.
Sam has a raft of experience in the design of buildings and infrastructure projects in the public and private sectors. His portfolio includes the design of new build and complex refurbishment projects ranging in value between £50,000 to £250 million, with specific experience in the education, healthcare, sports, retail, commercial, industrial, and residential markets.
Ian has a wealth of experience in design and build construction and has been heavily involved with projects demanding complex fit out and rapid fast-track procurement.
Ian is a trained Quantity Surveyor and has been responsible for contractors’ estimating departments and cost planning for a range of projects. More recently, he has focused on the project management of high-end residential properties.
Ian takes a proactive role in supporting graduates and apprentices and believes in developing young talent to support future growth.
Before joining Ridge, Ian was a Founding Partner of the Midlands office of Projex Building Solutions (acquired by Ridge in 2021). Prior to this he was Operations Director at AMEC Design and Management where he ran the Stratford and London offices with total responsibility for 450 design staff and 18 project managers.
Nick has successfully led both Estimating and Quantity Surveying teams within main contracting and consultancy organisations. Most recently, he was Joint Managing Director of Projex Building Solutions – acquired by Ridge in 2021 – where he ran its Midlands office and commercial team for over 12 years.
Nick prides himself on developing younger members within the team enabling them to have direct client access as soon as possible and coaching them through their professional accreditations.
Nick’s personable client approach and varied commercial exposure delivers a knowledgeable and focused front-end skillset, with clients valuing the accuracy and depth of his commercial advice and speed of turnaround, particularly in the vital initial feasibility phase and development land bidding.
As a digital guru for Ridge, Paul brings a wealth of technical expertise and innovation to projects. With 23 years’ experience in the construction industry, Paul’s key strength is working closely with clients to get projects off to a flying start so that he can deliver high standards all the way through to completion.
Providing a wealth of project experience across retail, workplace, residential and leisure sectors, Paul has worked on projects with a range of values including the company’s involvement in the mixed-use redevelopment of the former Liverpool Echo Newspaper offices and the Cadent Office HQ at Ansty in Coventry.
Paul also has considerable experience in specific Building Surveying disciplines such as complex contract administration work and technical due diligence, both in the UK and abroad.
Paul joined Ridge from SGA Property in Melbourne, Australia, where he was a Senior Building Consultant. Prior to this, he was an Associate Director at CNP where, as a team leader, he was responsible for managing a team of senior surveyors and was a key part of the company’s expansion into Europe, working throughout Germany on a variety of acquisition surveys.
