Julian heads up the Planning and Project Controls function at Adept Management and is a Partner at Ridge. An experienced Planning & Project Controller and member of the APM, Julian’s expertise is rooted in Project Management fundamentals, ensuring effective delivery across the full project lifecycle. He has provided consultancy and assurance support to some of the UK’s most significant infrastructure programmes, including London Olympics 2012, Thames Tideway, Thameslink, and Transport for London surface transport. Over his career, Julian has held roles from Project Manager to Programme Planning and Controls Lead, embedding new management practices and leading integrated teams. His ability to combine project controls, schedule assurance, and leadership ensures successful outcomes on complex, multi‑project programmes.

David Prangley

David leads our Workflow Delivery team, specializing in delivering innovative tools and techniques in the scheduling and management of complex processes.

He brings over 25 years’ experience in design and project management across the full lifecycle of a project.  His particular focus is in improving certainty in the design phases of projects across the built environment but has also deployed those techniques outside of the built environment in both the defence and IT sectors. David’s experience comes from a portfolio of UK and international projects that include healthcare, aerospace, waste to energy, manufacturing, industrial, pharmaceutical, IT deployment, defence, retail, power transmission, municipal buildings, water infrastructure, education and residential projects, with a range of values from £5M up to £4Bn+. He is a recognized expert in the planning and management of the design process and is a regular speaker and contributor at conferences across the globe. He is also a member of the steering committee of the ‘International Construction Project Management Association’.

David has a passion for developing the next generation of built environment professionals. He has taught lessons in primary schools, established work experience placements, developed courses on the design process for both academia and industrial graduate schemes, and has been a visiting lecturer on MSc programmes at UCL, Reading, Portsmouth and Loughborough Universities.

Joel is a senior member of the recently acquired Adept Management team and leads their Design Management workstream.  He is a Member of the Association of Project Management (MAPM).

Joel’s background is in Automotive and Product Design however he has worked with construction design teams for 20 years in a variety of sectors including healthcare, hospitality and advanced manufacturing.  He has also undertaken considerable consultancy work with organisations on process efficiency and asset optimisation.  Joel’s remit is to develop Ridge’s Design Management service offering by managing a team of consultants who work within client organisations to bring best practice delivery of design for greater predictability and project success.  Joel also provides specialist expertise in the adoption and integration of MMC (Modern Methods of Construction) and has worked with design teams, manufacturers and main contractors on a series of landmark projects worldwide.

Marta Targosz

Marta is a Chartered Fire Engineer with over 13 years of experience in the construction industry. She began her career in fire safety research before moving into technical design within the built environment and later expanding into fire safety management and fire risk assessments. Her experience includes the design and construction of external walls, internal compartmentation, and both passive and active fire safety systems. Marta has also undertaken numerous external wall assessments and worked on projects across a wide range of sectors, including airports, offices, educational buildings, residential developments, hospitals, care homes, hotels, and warehouses.

As a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE), Marta now specialises in dispute resolution. She provides expert fire safety advice and acts as an expert advisor and expert witness in cases involving design and construction defects, Building Regulations compliance, professional negligence and matters arising under the Building Safety Act.

Marta holds an MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College London and the Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS) Expert Witness Civil Proceedings Certificate. Her technical foundation includes degrees in Fire Safety Engineering and Chemistry, giving her specialist insight into the combustion process and fire behaviour of materials.

Marta joined the Technical Expert Witnesses team at Ridge in 2025 and now provides expert services on construction disputes.

Steve also has extensive experience as a Contract Administrator, mainly on “Prime” residential properties. Steve has in depth experience in all aspects of pre and post contract quantity surveying duties. He specialises in providing alternative design solutions, cost benefit analysis, value engineering and cost in use, has taken part in and facilitated Value Management workshops, works well with other Design Team consultants to ensure value for money is a prime objective of the design. He is directly involved with clients advising on all aspects, especially procurement, contractual issues and cost advice. Steve has a wealth of experience in providing project costing from initial feasibility studies and to the detail Cost Planning including reviewing target limits, preparing cash-flows and preparing option appraisals.
