The Client, a hotel provider, identified Liverpool as a key site for the expansion of a newly developed hotel chain.
In order to deliver the 6-storey development, Ridge was briefed to manage the complex planning application process and negotiate a contract sum over a protracted period to deliver the most economic solutions within the constraints of the planning permission.
The existing building required extensive repairs, whilst being sympathetic to its historic nature. To ensure compliance, Ridge liaised with the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Local Authority Conservation Officer.
The redevelopment, together with the new 6-storey rear extension, has been developed to provide 106 bedrooms and communal facilities including reception, IT suite, staff accommodation and offices. The project also includes individual bedrooms with kitchen facilities, to provide guests the option of self-catering.
