Ridge provided services to construct the shell and core fit-out of the 67,500sqft building, including associated external works.
MEPC undertook a masterplan of the central area of Milton Park, the result of which confirmed the provision of four new buildings. The client secured a pre-let agreement with a major pharma employer and confirmed Plot A (Building 60) would proceed.
MEPC wished to enhance the specification of the external envelope design in order to distinguish the building from those in the surrounding area. The tenant also wanted a large entrance canopy.
The pharma tenant wanted to occupy the building as soon as was practicable so a suitable procurement strategy was developed to expedite the programme.
The shell and core element of the walls were designed in tandem with the tenants requirements for a cutting edge pharma research and development facility.
Due to the time frame and proximity to the works being undertaken on the adjoining Plot B, MEPC confirmed it wished to negotiate a contract sum. Ridge successfully negotiated this with the contractor working on Plot B in a timely fashion in order to secure an early start on site date.
