Damson Parkway Dispatch Facility for Jaguar Land Rover Solihul

Ridge designed a new distribution facility to manage 1,000 vehicles and 5 detached buildings in a secure site with a new bridge over the dual carriageway.

Working closely with JLR, the local authority and the main contractor, Ridge designed a low impact facility, transforming an oil seed rape field, into an extension of JLR’s existing plant in Solihull. Ridge co-ordinated the site plan to conceal the facility from the surrounding countryside with large grassed bunds and enhanced security to protect the assets within.

Ridge designed the enclosed bridge with timber cladding either side of the roadway, forming into a metal tube as a 45m single span bridge.

Ridge also designed five detached low impact buildings clad in Scandinavian Larch, allowing an agricultural aesthetic in the green belt.

Ridge coordinated the vehicle movements with advanced tracking to ensure the unobstructed flow of vehicles over the bridge, and in and out of the site onto Damson Parkway.

Ridge successfully managed the issues of ecology, trees, bats, drainage, light and noise pollution and site security.
