Great Hollands Pavilion Wokingham

Ridge provided Bracknell Town Council with a multidiscipline design team for the comprehensive redevelopment of Great Hollands Pavilion in Wokingham.

The existing pavilion, built in 1970’s, provided changing rooms, a shop, a meetings hall, machinery store and a caretaker’s flat.  Since its construction very little maintenance had been carried out on the structure so it was in a poor state and deemed no longer fit-for-purpose.

Ridge provided all the required services to enable the project to progress from the initial feasibility ideas provided by the Council, through the briefing and design process to successfully delivering the project on site.

As part of the tendering process, a thorough value engineering exercise was undertaken to ensure the project fell within the client’s strict budgetary requirements. Ridge worked closely with the contractor to come up with a workable solution to the design, ensuring that the brief was met whilst not detracting from the architectural merit and functionality of the building.

Works started on site early in 2018 and were completed in early 2019. In addition to the main Pavilion works, Ridge also assisted in coordinating associated splash pad and landscaping works undertaken directly by the client ensuring that a complete package was delivered ready for opening in the summer of 2019.
