Holiday Inn Reading

The design and build of a 174-bed 4* hotel for the Holiday Inn brand. The leisure facilities include a pool, steam room and sauna.

As part of a brownfield development on an established business park, the site is part of a £40 million development by SEGRO (Slough Estates) which, along with the hotel, also comprises an office and basement car parking.

The 62-week construction programme benefited from pre-cast concrete wall and floor members and pre-fabricated bathroom pods. The contract was a “turn-key” type, which enabled the hotel to be fully operational the day after practical completion. The specification was largely governed by the exacting Holiday Inn brand standards, including comprehensive acoustic requirements.

In spite of logistical challenges presented by the site, the hotel development and associated leisure facilities were completed and handed over in line with programme.
