Prologis is developing a Logistics Operations Centre at a Solihull site, to provide a warehouse and automated storage retrieval system across 100,000sqm of floor space.
The new facility will reduce the transfers flowing between existing facilities across the UK and Europe by using a single building on the Solihull campus.
Working closely with the client, end users and contractor, Ridge collaborated and developed strong relationships to deliver a challenging project within a fast pace construction programme.
Built on an infill site, the project requires rerouting of an existing highway, drainage and powerlines under a S278 Agreement, as well as a new sustainable and ecological landscaping strategy.
The building comprises 4100sqm of office area across the first and second floors, warehouse facilities, with automated racking, and retrieval equipment to the ground floor with a clear height of 15m. A canteen is provided for up to 400 staff and welfare facilities are provided in various pods around the building.
External site works include multi-story car parking for 1150 cars, bikes and electric vehicles, as well as canopies, gatehouse, hard standing and fencing.
