The existing lodge, constructed in the early 1800’s, did not provide sufficient space or a ‘sense of arrival’ to the College. The quad adjacent to the lodge required a strategy to provide fully level and accessible circulation to all areas of the College.
Ridge worked closely with the College steering group to develop a scheme that was sensitive to its historic context, and also created a new welcoming light and contemporary environment that enhances the historic setting using refined details and materials such as bronze, cast iron, limestone and glass.
The Ridge team efficiently managed the process, and refined the brief that resulted in a product that met the needs of many of the team members. Communication was strong and the fact that we have already commissioned repeat business with Ridge speaks for itself.
