Sustainability

Sustainability is central to our philosophy and has been an integral part of the Ridge story from the very beginning. Wherever possible, we strive to help our clients identify innovative solutions which strike the right balance between social, economic and environmental considerations.

Demonstrating credentials in the field of sustainability is becoming increasingly important. As a leader in this area, Ridge employ BRE accredited assessors and CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants who are ideally positioned within our multidiscipline practice to help you understand where your projects can incorporate sustainability principles, and advise on implementation.

Whether you are looking at existing or new buildings, Ridge can help you review the sustainability opportunities for your project. Examples of some of our services include:

  • Sustainability assessment and Advisory Professional services
  • Energy and sustainability strategy reports including passive design analysis
  • Low and zero carbon technology reports
  • Thermal analysis and overheating studies
  • Life cycle assessment of the embodied carbon impacts of a scheme considering the main building elements such as superstructure, sub structure, hard landscaping and building services
  • Daylighting studies
  • Travel Plans and Travel Plan Co-Ordinator services to encourage sustainable transport solutions
  • WELL Building Assessments
  • Waste management considerations – Ridge employ engineers who are qualified under the Definition of Waste Code of Practice which allows the movement of clean natural materials between development sites
  • Compliance with Part L of Building Regulations (domestic and non domestic)

Testimonials

You are probably the first assessor I have worked with that responds to questions and submissions in a reasonable time scale. Usually, the trail goes cold and it’s a real effort to build any momentum. Thanks for that, it makes all the difference.
