James Parker

James spent 28 years working in transport planning, building his career with several major consultancies before setting up his own practice in 2006. He and his business partner grew the company to a team of 17 before being acquired by Ridge in May 2026.

His background in local government gives James a strong understanding of the planning process and how developments interact with the communities around them. He specialises in supporting residential and commercial projects, helping clients navigate everything from site appraisals and transport assessments to travel planning. He also has expert witness experience from public consultations and inquiries.

James has worked on a range of projects, including the redevelopment of the Wedgwood Factory in Stoke-on-Trent and its associated residential development. He has also been involved with Rugby Free School, Keresley Village Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE), the JCB factory extension in Rocester and multiple Severn Trent Water sites across the UK.

With nearly three decades of experience, James has a practical understanding of transport planning and how it can help unlock development opportunities while meeting planning requirements.
