Ridge has achieved Gold status in the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme, the highest level of recognition available to organisations supporting the Armed Forces community.
The award recognises the support we provide to veterans, reservists and military families within Ridge, as well as the role we play in advocating for the Armed Forces community across the built environment sector.
Achieving Gold reflects years of dedication from our Military Community Network, alongside colleagues across the business who have helped shape policies, initiatives and partnerships. Our internal military community has grown from 8 to 43 members since 2023, spanning veterans, reservists, cadet force adult volunteers (CFAVs), military families and allies. The group fosters support and drives initiatives, including the development of an ex-military recruitment programme.
Gold status is a milestone, not a finish line. It reflects the commitment of everyone in our military community and across the wider business, and it comes with a responsibility to keep leading by example and sharing what we've learned with others in our sector.”

Championing the cause within our sector
That growth has translated into activity beyond our own walls. In 2024, we helped The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust sign the Armed Forces Covenant, sharing our own journey and advising on policy and culture change. A client relationship has followed a similar path: the company volunteered with us during the 2025 Poppy Appeal and is now working towards its own Covenant pledge, with our support as it works towards Bronze through 2026.
Supporting cadet forces
Our support also extends to cadet forces. One of our employees, who volunteers with Redditch Sea Cadets, has helped us build a year-long partnership that has included designing and procuring a gazebo for training and events, delivering a fieldcraft session and career-pathway talk, and supporting a formal parade and inspection. In February 2026, we strengthened our ties with Wiltshire Army Cadets, agreeing to sponsor clothing for 36 cadets taking part in the Arnhem march in September and planning a summer event for veterans to share their career experiences.
This recognition matters because it's built on real relationships, not just policy. From cadet units to clients working towards their own pledges, we're seeing the difference that consistent, practical support can make.”

Looking ahead
Gold brings with it a responsibility to continue leading by example, sharing best practice and championing the valuable contribution that the Armed Forces community makes to our profession and sector.
