Silverstone wanted to create a rallycross circuit that could bring something different to the championship calendar – fast, technical and built for spectators as much as drivers.

The challenge was fitting a high-performance track into the busy infield of one of the world’s most recognisable racing venues.

Creating a circuit built for competition

We provided race track design, civil engineering and visualisation services, guiding the circuit from concept through to detailed design and construction support.

Working within a constrained live venue meant every metre mattered. The layout needed to meet FIA standards, handle the demands of top-level rallycross and fit naturally into the wider Silverstone site.

We developed a compact 1km, 10-turn circuit with a 60% unsealed surface and a dramatic jump section that quickly became one of the standout features of the championship.

Alongside the design work, we prepared the FIA approval package and worked closely with stakeholders to resolve technical requirements and site constraints. During construction, we remained involved on site to help ensure the finished circuit performed exactly as intended.

Built to stand out

The completed circuit delivers close, unpredictable racing and a strong spectator experience, with viewing opportunities woven throughout the layout.

Since opening in 2017, the track has hosted rounds of the British, European and FIA World Rallycross Championships, helping establish Silverstone as a key venue for the sport.

From first concept to race day, the focus stayed simple – create a circuit that drivers enjoy, spectators remember and organisers can rely on year after year.
