He is very active in our defence and security sector and leads projects with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the MOD and Boeing Defence. As well as supporting these major clients, he also leads regional projects with regional design teams.
Phil says, “at Ridge we have the best of all worlds. We are a big practice that allows us to work on major infrastructure and building projects with many of the UK’s best clients; however, we remain agile and grounded and can flex our approach to deliver the smallest of projects. Working and maintaining local relationships with our longstanding clients is so important to us, and throughout our period of growth our customer base has developed, but our customer-focused approach remains the same. We are proud of our repeat business and longstanding relationships.”
Our design approach to Building Services Engineering is to understand the clients brief, interrogate the needs and operation of the building and utilise innovative methods in the design process. As buildings are responsible for over 40% of all energy consumption throughout the world, the responsibility of the Building Services Engineer to minimise carbon emissions and reduce energy consumption, to meet regulatory change and the sustainable agenda, is vitally important.
Our approach to design is to passively drive the building design and fabric to maximise the performance of the building before consideration is given to selecting Building Services systems. Once this is achieved, selection of equipment is made against simplicity in operation, future maintainability and systems to provide first class internal environmental conditions.
Working as part of an internal Ridge multidiscipline design team, or when we are providing a stand-alone Building Services Engineering commission, we pride ourselves on team work and togetherness in the delivery of best-in-class solutions for clients.
