Christine Leigh is a specialist Fire Engineer, a Chartered Building Engineer and Fellow of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (FCABE), specialising in fire safety defects, Building Regulations compliance, compartmentation, passive fire protection, and external wall systems.

Christine has extensive experience reviewing building designs, construction details and fire safety documentation to assess compliance with the Building Regulations. Her work includes investigating fire safety defects, compartmentation failures, passive fire protection, external wall systems, façade construction, timber frame buildings and remediation strategies.

Her background in both fire engineering and Building Control provides a detailed understanding of how buildings are designed, approved, constructed and occupied, enabling her to provide practical, proportionate advice on compliance, liability, risk management and remediation strategy.

Her expertise includes Building Regulations, the Building Safety Act, Defective Premises Act 1972, Approved Document B, and recognised fire engineering guidance and standards; together with extensive experience reviewing complex residential developments, higher risk buildings, external wall systems, construction products and systems.

Christine prepares independent expert reports in accordance with CPR Part 35 and regularly provides expert witness evidence in disputes involving fire safety defects, Building Regulations compliance, the Building Safety Act and construction defects. She has prepared joint statements and has been cross-examined before the courts.
