Ian is a veteran Chartered Building Surveyor with more than 30 years’ experience and has been a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) since 1995. For two decades, he has specialised in defects analysis and contentious property matters, including break clauses, Ground F lease renewal disputes and dilapidations.

Ian is a trusted adviser on property disputes, supporting clients through court proceedings, mediation and adjudication. He regularly provides expert witness advice and has extensive experience preparing reports, giving evidence and acting as a court-appointed independent expert.

His reputation is built on deep technical knowledge and sound judgement. A former member of the RICS Dilapidations Steering Group, he has contributed articles to Estates Gazette and the Journal of Building Survey, Appraisal and Valuation. He currently sits on the editorial boards of two leading industry journals.
