Ian is an accomplished Chartered Building Services Engineer with more than 35 years’ experience and leads our Birmingham office. His broad expertise spans multiple sectors, with a focus on education and healthcare, including acute and primary care, and mental health projects.

He has supported compliant designs for new build, refurbishment and redevelopment schemes, working to Health Technical Memoranda (HTM), Health Building Notes (HBN) and wider technical memorandum standards. Ian is also leading the Midlands regional alliance with contractors appointed to the Department for Education's Construction Framework 2025, delivering the next phase of government school projects.

Known for his pragmatic and thoughtful approach, Ian is not afraid to challenge designs where it will improve the outcome. He focuses on finding practical solutions that add value without introducing unnecessary cost or risk.

Ian is passionate about getting things right first time. Drawing on decades of experience, he helps clients balance capital investment and operational performance to achieve the best long-term value from their projects.

He holds MIET and FIHEEM qualifications.
