James has more than 10 years’ experience designing and assessing steel, timber, concrete and masonry structures for commercial, residential and institutional buildings.

His portfolio includes high-profile residential developments and commercial office towers to major transformation projects. His experience also spans the refurbishment of Grade I listed buildings and the transformation of landmark institutional assets in London and Liverpool.

Alongside his design work, James supports clients, insurers and legal teams on complex property and construction claims. He provides forensic engineering and expert witness services, helping to identify the root cause of issues and offering clear, evidence-based opinions that stand up to scrutiny.

James joined our Technical Expert Witnesses team in 2025 and now advises on national and international construction disputes, drawing on his experience in structural engineering, forensic investigations and expert advisory services.
