Katerina Ballentine

Katerina is a Chartered Structural Engineer and technical expert witness with more than 16 years' experience working across a range of sectors and building types. She designs structures in steel, timber, reinforced concrete and masonry, combining technical expertise with practical engineering judgement.

Much of her work focuses on existing buildings. From commercial and industrial properties to schools, leisure facilities and historic homes, she helps clients understand how buildings perform and what needs to happen next.

Katerina is particularly experienced in investigating structural defects, including ground movement and issues arising during design or construction. She works closely with clients to identify the root cause of problems, assess their impact and provide clear, evidence-based advice.

She also supports clients as projects evolve, helping them understand the implications of design changes and make informed decisions at every stage. Known for her calm, methodical approach, Katerina brings clarity to complex structural challenges, helping clients move forward with confidence.
