Carlisle Southern Link Road Connection

Cumberland Council’s Carlisle Southern Link Road will create a crucial east-west connection between Junction 42 of the M6 and the A595.

Spanning 8km, it will reduce congestion, improve transport resilience and support the development of St Cuthbert’s Garden Village, a 10,000-home community.

We’re providing NEC4 project management, planning and land management support, working as part of the client’s team to keep this major programme moving with clarity and control. Our approach brings structure to both contract and schedule, while helping Cumberland Council and construction company Galliford Try work together smoothly.

With a complex programme and many dependencies, we work closely with the contractor to manage schedules, track progress and understand the impact of compensation events. Our land project manager also plays a key role, talking regularly with neighbouring landowners, land agents, local businesses and the wider community to resolve boundary and access issues early, keeping disruption low.
