Chapel Gate is a major regeneration project that will deliver private and affordable housing and community facilities. The housing association client, Vivid (formerly Sentinal HA), manages 30,000 affordable homes across the South East. The Chapel Gate properties are mixed two- to four-bed houses and apartment blocks.
The site development will provide a number of public open spaces, a LEAP standard play area and stepped ‘amphitheatre’ style seating area. Highway improvements include additional vehicle accesses to the site and crossings for ‘safer routes to schools’.
The existing Art Deco ‘white building’ is to be restored and converted to flats.
Ridge was appointed to supply multidiscipline construction management and engineering consultancy services and undertook pre-acquisition due diligence work to the former Eli Lilly pharmaceuticals site and the adjoining Victoria site.
Ridge continues to work with Vivid throughout the project in a construction monitoring and cost management role. The overall project is due to complete by October 2022.
