Project and programme delivery
The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a multi-billion-pound programme transforming rail travel across the Pennines, delivering greener and more reliable journeys through major improvements to tracks, signalling and bridges.
We provided project management support focused on planning and project controls, helping keep this complex programme moving.
Project management driving seamless delivery
Working side by side with the W3 project manager and the design and delivery teams, we created a clear baseline schedule that brought structure to the design process and made resource planning simpler. This improved forecasting, helped us spot risks early and supported better decision making – keeping progress visible.
Clear plans, confident delivery
Our work helped secure client approval of the design delivery baseline, giving everyone a shared plan they could trust. Strong collaboration meant risks were raised early, giving the team time to make informed commercial decisions. Smooth delivery of design packages played a key role in keeping construction on track and avoiding unnecessary delays to vital upgrades.
Building a stronger, more reliable rail network
By improving planning and project controls, we helped lay the groundwork for a rail upgrade that will benefit northern communities for decades. Our work supports Network Rail’s ambition for a faster, greener and more dependable service, transforming journeys across the Pennines and beyond.
