Hyderabad Street Circuit

Our client set out to bring world-class motorsport back to India with a Formula E circuit woven into the heart of the city.

The challenge was creating a safe, competitive and visually distinctive track within a constrained lakeside setting.

Designing a circuit for the city

Delivering a high-performance street circuit through active public space demanded careful planning from the outset. The layout needed to work with existing roads, parkland and infrastructure while still meeting FIA standards.

We provided civil engineering, race track design and visualisation services, developing a 2.8km, 18-turn circuit through NTR Gardens and alongside Hussain Sagar Lake. Our team refined the geometry to suit the surrounding streetscape, working closely with stakeholders to support approvals and programme delivery.

To bring the proposal to life, we also created a full 3D animation and onboard lap simulation ahead of construction. This helped teams visualise how the circuit would perform long before the first car arrived.

Balancing spectacle with practicality

Street circuits come with little room for compromise. Safety, access and buildability all had to work within a busy urban setting.

Our team balanced technical performance with the practical realities of the site, creating a layout that delivered competitive racing while respecting the character of the surrounding public spaces. By coordinating design, programme and stakeholder input early, we helped reduce risk and keep delivery moving in a demanding live environment.

Bringing global motorsport back to India

The completed circuit helped re-establish India on the international motorsport stage, hosting the country’s first FIA-sanctioned event since 2013.

The street circuit feels part of the city rather than separate from it, creating a memorable setting for racing while showcasing Hyderabad to a global audience.
