Eynsham Hall Oxfordshire

Upgrade of a former stately home to a 4* boutique-style hotel in the heart of Oxfordshire.

Eynsham Hall is a Grade II listed manor house, built in the 17th century. The Hall, set in 30 acres, became a training and conference centre in 1981 and is now a 3-star 114-bed hotel and conference facility. Ridge was appointed to upgrade the property to a 4-star+ boutique hotel.

The project consisted of the alteration and refurbishment of the hotel accommodation within the original 17th century building, demolition of a 1980s 29-bed accommodation block, and construction of a new, luxury 90-bedroom wing, to be called ‘The Lodge’.

The scheme also involved the creation of a new reception area and new conference facilities in a two-storey extension over the kitchens. It also provides a glazed link to the new Lodge building.

Important to the successful delivery of the scheme was the continuous and undisrupted running of the Hall. To work around this, Ridge carried out main works outside of peak business hours and divided the scheme into a series of work programmes, allowing construction to be completed with minimal disruption.
