Redevelopment of the Frilford Heath Golf Club to provide a new golf shop, reception area, golf simulators, roof terrace and office areas.
The golf club covers 500 acres of undulating heathland in south Oxfordshire. The client required new facilities, and a focus on energy-efficient solutions.
Ridge worked closely with MEB Architects and the CLT manufacturer to co-ordinate the designs for the CLT panels. Ridge used Revit as a 3D design tool to ensure that all building services were agreed before CLT construction began.
The increased shop floor offers improved sales opportunities, the new reception provides an obvious arrival point, and the newly installed golf simulators offers the latest technology for golf practice.
The scheme included various low-energy solutions including an air source heat pump for low carbon heating, LED lighting to all areas, and a carefully arranged natural ventilation strategy. The solution provides the club with a low-running cost and highly sustainable development.
