The development of Soho Farmhouse, a luxury private members’ club in rural Oxfordshire, offering members a 100-acre holiday village to enjoy as a leisure destination.
Ridge was commissioned to provide cost management and employer’s agent services for the duration of the works, working to the high specification requirements that Soho House uses in their club locations worldwide.
The first phase of the development included the construction of 40 cabins, a 7-bedroom farmhouse, a 4-bedroom cottage, four purpose-built barns providing restaurant/ bar areas, a Japanese grill, a heated indoor/ outdoor swimming pool (constructed within a lake), a spa, and a gym/ studio, a cinema, tennis courts, a five-a-side football pitch, horse stables, farm-shop and a play barn for children. This phase completed successfully within an 18-month programme.
Ridge was subsequently reappointed for the second phase of works, which will include the construction of 50 rooms, a glasshouse, and refurbishment to the spa, extension to the gatehouse and upgrades to the access road and sewage treatment works.
As Employer’s Agent, Ridge fulfilled the traditional Employers’ Agent role as contracted, which included chairing monthly progress meetings and issuing contract instructions and certificates as required.
